----- Nội dung ảnh ----- The Muong ethnic roots with the Vietnamese people and their language is classified its Vietnamese-Muong language branch. The Vietnamese-Muong areas which have abundant land to live in are Muong hamlets, still land located in the shade of big trees, huddled beside the mountains, and grow wet rice. A Muong house is designed to maximize space and allow air and ventilation to counter the humid mountain climate.
The Muong's dress is special. Men often wear a round-neck skirt which opens at the front and has two pockets. Their pants have large trouser legs. The Muong women usually wear a black dress with a wide band of buttons at the front and long sleeves. They bind a whole headscarf around their heads.
The Muong have a rich culture, including folk songs and poems, sorcerer's worshiping songs, and riddle songs. They are popular musical instruments including the violin, the djem, and the pan-pipe.
