Herm Island is one of the smallest of the Channel Islands – a group of islands
in the English Channel. The only way to reach it is by sea. It’s a 20-minute trip but it
is against the rules to ride a bike or drive a car!
You can walk the way around Herm in under two hours. The only sound you
will hear is the sheep in the fields and birds in the trees. There is one hotel without
telephones, televisions or clocks. There are also holiday cottages and a campsite.
Visitors can enjoy the sandy beaches and swim in the sea. They can also hire a jet
ski and ride it around the coast! There is no doctor but there is an ambulance boat. It
can take sick people over to the hospital on Guernsey - a neighboring island in less
than 15 minutes.
