Many people in my region celebrate something called carnival. The name comes from two

where we try not to eat so much. A lot of people enjoy the festival, but then they don't

big parade in most cities.

December. Many children get lots of gifts, so it was my favorite time of year when I was

During that month, we do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset. This is very difficult in
my own country, where one day only lasts about 12 hours, even in summer, but now I live
in Britain, and summer days are more than 16 hours long.
