Mid-Autumn festival is the celebration to worship the Moon Genie on the brightest day of the moon in a year. It takes place on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. From the beginning of the month,people have prepared for this festival. They make moon cakes that are special cakes for only this occasion. The cakes symbolize happiness and health on the Mid-Autumn day. Children are provided with many beautiful and colorful lanterns. In the evening of the full moon, they carry their lanterns and walk from streets to streets in the cheerful sounds of their singing.

Mid-Autumn festival is an opportunity for members of a family to visit one another and create good memories. The young express their gratefulness to the old generation. The parents show their love for their children. For farmers, it is the celebration for the full harvest because the traditional time of this festival is usually after harvesting time.
