They clean their house ,buy new clothes and decorate their houses decorate with flowers such as kumquat tree , apricot blossom.One or two days before the festival, people make banh chung - the traditional cakes,and other goodies. Banh Chung, Banh Tet, Mut, …and candies are the foods that must have on Tet holidays. On the New Year Eve, the whole family gather for reunion dinner. On the first day of lunar new year, everyone often comes to grandparents, relatives and neighbors' houses to wish them health, happiness and a happy new year. Children often receive lucky money kept in a red envelope from their parents and relatives. People also go to pagoda to pray for their families.
