TORNADOES AND TYPHOONS
People often confuse typhoons and tornadoes, even though they are very different. Both are extremely destructive weather phenomina, with very (56) ________ winds, but the similarity ends there.
Typhoons, also known as hurricanes, form only on water. They are such large storms that we can see them clearly only from space. In a satellite photograph, a typhoon (57) ________like an enormous circular blanket of thick cloud. It may have a small hole in the centre, (58) ________ an “eye”.
