- "If you don't apologize immediately, I'm leaving," she told him. (threatened) → She told him that she threatened to leave if he didn't apologize immediately.
- My father will probably stay there longer than he expected. (probability) → There is a high probability that my father will stay there longer than expected.
b) Using no more than seven words including the bracketed word:
- He will give lots of excuses for being late, don't believe them. (matter) → Excuses will not matter for being late, don't believe them.
- Do you feel that your English is getting better? (progress) → Do you think your English is progressing?
- Why didn't you inform me of the changes in the plan? (should) → You should have informed me of the changes in the plan.
