PART C. READING
I. Read the following passage and circle the most suitable word from the ones given in the box to fill in each gap. Write the answers on your answer sheet.
A New Home in Space
Our planet, Earth, is becoming more and more crowded. The world's (26) population might reach 11 billion by 2100. I think we will need to find a new home in the future.
In the future, people may live in space habitats. These habitats could be built near Earth or on other planets. Space habitats would be much larger than space stations, and they would have (27) similar gravity to Earth. This would make it possible for people to live in space for long periods of time without having health problems. I think it has a nice (28) view of Earth, too.
Space habitats would be self-sufficient, meaning that they would produce their own food, water, and (29) oxygen. They would also have recycling systems to reduce waste. Space habitats would be powered by solar energy or nuclear fusion.
Living in a space habitat would be very different (30) from living on Earth. People would have to learn to live in a closed environment and to recycle everything.
There's no other place like Earth. Our new home will be strange, but very exciting!
