A challenging career
Ria Chapman talks about the job she loves.

At night, when it’s time for the shows, I always feel alive and energetic. I love it when I know that the audience enjoy the performance and talk about it afterwards. However, not every night is a great one. Sometimes, I made mistakes on the stage, and that used to bring me down every time. Working in the arts for a long time, I’ve learned to accept mistakes, and instead, after every show, I reflect on myself to perfect my next performances.

More audience have started to notice the dance, and there are more career opportunities for aerial dancers like me. However, what motivates me the most is recognize familiar faces in the audience. They saw me once then kept coming back. It gives me the strength to get over the fear of getting hurt and move forward in this challenging career.
