  1. It's important to eat well, especially when you are studying. If you are at primary school, you may not go home for lunch and have a cooked meal of meat or fish and vegetables. A chicken and lettuce sandwich, with some fresh fruit would be a light but healthy lunch. Many people around the world eat plain, boiled rice twice or three times a day.

Pupils and students often don’t eat well when they’re revising for an exam - they eat chocolate and drink lots of black coffee! And by the way, doctors say everybody should start the day with a healthy breakfast. It’s also good for you to drink a lot of water through the day.

  1. We need calories or energy to do things every day. For example, when we walk to school or ride a bike to school, we spend a certain amount of calories and even when we sleep, we also use them. But how many calories should we spend a day to stay in shape? It’s difficult for us to calculate. We get calories from the food we eat. If we eat too much food and don't take part in any activities, we can get fat quickly.
