*The real meaning of Christmas*
Many think that Christmas is just a festival for Christian's. For some, it's a relegious holiday to get-together with friends, family and relatives to have fun and to exchange gifts. Santa Claus, who is not even mentioned in the Bible, dominates in almost all Christmas celebrations.
Romans 3:23 (Bible) says that every human has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 says that the payment of our sins in death (eternal spiritual death).
Man is helpless to cleanse his sins and hence unable to avoid this punishment. Our good works cannot save us, our knowledge nor rituals, rules and regulations can wash our sins. God loves each one of us so much that He made a way to save us.
Though he knew no sin, He himself took our punishment (death), in our place.(John 3:16). He died in the cross and rose again on the 3rd day. He is alive.
2000 years ago in this Christmas day, God left Heaven and all His glory in it and came down to Earth to save us from the death, to forgive our sins and to give the gift of Eternal life.
To those who receive and believe in Him, Jesus offers absolute Forgiveness, a new spirit and eternal life (John 5:24).
While mankind was going towards hell eternally due to our sins, this loving God didn't leaves nor Judge us. He loves us with an everlasting love. He gave His Holy un-sinned life for us.
Christmas is Jesus Christ, Christmas is Love, Christmas is mercy, Christmas is redemption.
This Christmas, let us know the loving saviour who sacrificed His own life to save us. Let's receive His Love and Forgiveness.
