Giong Festival is a festival which is held annually in many places in Viet Nam to commemorate and praise for the deeds of Saint Giong. Every year, this festival takes place in many local places in the honor of one of the most well-known heroes in Viet Nam – Saint Giong. There are two most famous kinds of Giong festivals in Ha Noi: Soc Son Giong Festival and Phu Dong Giong Festival. Especially, Phu Dong Giong festival is considered to be the World Intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. This festival simulates the battles of Saint Giong as well as Van Lang people against An enemy. This festival is one of the most popular traditional festivals in Viet Nam. It preserves the value of VietNam history.

My family and I attended the Buffalo – fighting Festival in Do Son last year. This festival is held every year, on August 9th according to Lunar calendar. The Buffalo – fighting Festival is held to remember the merits of gods, maintain the village discipline, to play for the prosperity and happiness for the local people. People played drum, danced and watched the buffalos. The drum sound and the scream of people urge the buffalo to play in a fierce way. Many buffalo owners, local people and tourists came to the festival. The festival was really fascinating and amazing.

Tet is the traditional Tet holiday of the Vietnamese people. All Vietnamese people love this festival because families will be reunited and welcome the moment of New Year's Eve moving from the old year to the new year together. When Tet comes, all the flowers are blooming and fragrant. Before Tet, everyone goes shopping together to buy necessities for the New Year. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, the young people will wish the old old people lots of health. And then, the older ones will give the kids red red packets. At the end, everyone goes together to visit relatives, friends and neighbors and wish them a very good New Year, all the best, and a happy, happy.
