Homeland, the source of national culture. Indeed, the homeland is the place where we were born and raised, where our ancestors for thousands of years protected and preserved the national traditions. Homeland is what is dear, closest and most attached in daily life. These are the stories she used to tell in the old days, the lullabies that lull us early in the day, the pickaxes, bamboo mats, and baskets my father used to make. Homeland is where we, those who are still alive, pay filial piety to our father on the occasion of the New Year, with simple trays of rice in memory of the deceased. The homeland is not modern and civilized like the city, but it is the source of the reason for living, the national cultural identity that we need to inherit and promote.
