Labour Day
Labour Day is celebrated worldwide annually. It is
also called International Worker's Day or May Day
in other parts of the world. This day is a national,
public holiday in many countries in the world.
More than 80 countries celebrate Labour Day
on May 1st.
Some countries celebrate it on other dates that
have a significant meaning to them. For example,
Canada and the United States have Labour Day on
the first Monday of September. Since the 20th
century, Labour Day has become a celebration of
labourers and working classes. The day is celebrat-
ed to honour and recognise the achievements
of workers.
