The Colosseum is one of the most popular

in Italy, and it is one of the largest amphitheaters
ever built.
Its construction began between 70 and 72 AD and
finished in 80 AD. People went there to watch
interesting events like gladiator games, contests
between men and animals, and make-believe
naval battles.
Today the Colosseum looks different because of
earthquakes and stone theft. However, it is a very
