Last Saturday it was Rose’s birthday party.

Mrs Thomson, her mother, prepared the sandwiches and the sweets. Mr Thomson helped his wife. Rose washed the dishes and John, her brother, cleaned them.

Rose invited many friends. They arrived in groups. She opened the door and her friends offered her many presents: a box of chocolates, many books and some records.

During the afternoon they listened to some CDs and danced. Some played with John’s computer and others watched TV. They had a lot of fun.

At tea-time Rose’s mother appeared with a delicious cake and all of them had a piece of it.

At the end everybody thanked Rose for that marvellous afternoon.
