Angkor Wat is a temple in the city of Angkor. It’s in the middle of the rainforest in Cambodia.
About 800 years ago, this beautiful stone temple was built for King Suryavarman II. About 50,000
people built the temple, and it took more than 37 years. They built it to look like the mountain where
their gods lived. There are some decorations on the walls.
When people built Angkor Wat, they went around the buildings. They put water around the
