The fox and the crow
A crow one day found (find) a piece of cheese and flew (fly) off to a tree with it to eat (eat) there.
A fox, who was watching (watch) her, ran (run) to the tree, sat (sit) down under its branches, and began (begin) to flatter her. He thought (think) that he could (can) get the cheese in this way. He praised (praise) her beauty and told (tell) her that she had (have) a lovely voice.
After he had flattered (flatter) her for a while, he asked (ask) the crow to sing (sing) to him. The crow opened (open) her mouth to sing and dropped (drop) the cheese. The fox snapped (snap) it at once.
