In Vietnam, there are also some big holidays like in other countries. Among those big holidays, I like Tet the most, especially Tet in my hometown.

My hometown is very crowded every Tet holiday. In the days approaching Tet, markets suddenly become busier. The Tet market has a lot of items from food, drinks to clothes, shoes... The color red is the most popular day of Tet, so the whole market seems to be surrounded by crimson, symbolizing luck.
. Everyone will clean their house to welcome the new year. Adults will prepare and shop for Tet items. Children eagerly look forward to having a day off from school, going on Tet holidays, having their mothers buy them nice clothes, and also not having to study for homework.

On the thirtieth day of Tet, the whole family is busy to welcome the new year, everything must be done before 12 o'clock at night.

I remember when I was 9 years old, my grandmother wrapped a lot of banh tet. I sat next to her and watched her wrap the banh tet and begged her to wrap me a small banh tet. She smiled kindly and she wrapped for me one. I was extremely happy. That night I decided to stay up by the fire to cook cakes with my dad, but for some reason I fell asleep in my dad's arms all the time. In my joy, the New Year's Eve dinner that year was full of delicious dishes in my eyes.
. The following days, my whole family went together to wish relatives New Year. What I like best is receiving red envelopes and everyone wishing me good grades.
Recently, someone said they would abandon the traditional New Year for some reason. I don't want that at all, and certainly neither do other children. I really love Tet in my hometown. I hope adults don't give up Tet, don't give up the childhood of children across our country.
Thank you for watching and listening.
