The preparations for Tet holiday start weeks in advance, with people cleaning and decorating their homes, buying new clothes, and stocking up on food and gifts. The atmosphere becomes festive as streets and houses are adorned with colorful flowers, lanterns, and traditional decorations.

During Tet, families gather together to celebrate and enjoy special meals. The traditional Tet meal, called "banh chung" or sticky rice cake, is prepared and shared among family members. It symbolizes the unity and harmony of the family. Other traditional dishes like boiled chicken, pickled vegetables, and various types of fruits are also served.

Visiting relatives and friends is an important part of Tet holiday. People travel long distances to be with their loved ones, often bringing gifts and well-wishes.
