One subject that I truly despise at school is mathematics. From the moment I step into the classroom, my heart sinks and my enthusiasm dwindles. The mere sight of numbers and equations sends shivers down my spine, and I find myself longing for the end of the class.

There are several reasons why I detest mathematics. Firstly, the subject seems to be a never-ending maze of complex formulas and mind-boggling concepts. Each lesson introduces a new set of rules and procedures that I struggle to comprehend. It feels like trying to decipher an ancient language that is completely alien to me. No matter how hard I try, I can never seem to grasp the logic behind it all.

Furthermore, mathematics requires an immense amount of precision and attention to detail, which are not my strongest suits. One small mistake can lead to an entirely incorrect answer, and the frustration of spending hours on a problem only to realize that I made a simple error is unbearable. The constant fear of making mistakes and the pressure to be accurate often paralyze me, making it even more difficult to concentrate and understand the subject.

Moreover, mathematics lacks the creativity and imagination that I find in other subjects. It feels rigid and structured, leaving no room for interpretation or personal expression. The subject is solely focused on finding the right answer, leaving no space for exploration or critical thinking. This lack of creativity makes the subject monotonous and uninteresting, making it even harder for me to engage with the material.

Lastly, the way mathematics is taught often exacerbates my dislike for the subject. The traditional teaching methods, such as repetitive drills and rote memorization, fail to engage me and make the subject feel even more tedious. The lack of real-world applications and practical examples makes it difficult to see the relevance of the subject in my everyday life, further diminishing my motivation to learn.

In conclusion, mathematics is the subject I hate most at school. Its complexity, demand for precision, lack of creativity, and uninspiring teaching methods all contribute to my disdain for the subject. While I understand the importance of mathematics in various fields, it remains a constant struggle for me to find any enjoyment or interest in it.

English. I enjoy reading and writing but listening to the teachers break down every sentence drove me nuts! Once my teacher asked the class about their opinions on a poem, what they got out of it. I answered what I felt and was told my opinion or interpretation of a poem was wrong. It was all down hill from there. Also moved schools a couple time and ended up basically repeating English classes because they didn’t count in one school or another. I read the same 4 books for the next 3 semesters because of that. There’s only so many times a person can read Of Mice and Men before they go crazy.

Back in high school, the subject that I really hated was literature. I did not understand why others could write easily but I could not. Honestly, I really admired my friends because they always wrote long essays, and theirs all were full of feelings. When I look back now, I can figure out some reasons. First of all, I belonged to natural science. That was why I always got five scores for literature but maximum ones for math. The second reason was also the most critical factor that impacted negatively on my writing skill. I remember that I had to write unreal things in my essays. For instance, my teachers were not perfect but I had to describe them as angels. How could I write well when the lies always stopped my ideas? In my opinion, this was the worst teaching way because the teachers were killing students' self-expression and teaching their students how to tell lies. Fortunately, I was not good at writing, but I have never failed the exams because I always beat my brains out to finish my essays.
