Saving energy is an important practice that everyone should incorporate into their daily lives. Simple actions such as turning off lights, fans, and faucets when not in use can make a big difference in conserving energy. Keeping the refrigerator door closed and preparing food carefully before turning on the stove are also effective ways to save energy. In Vietnam, one of my favorite celebrations is Tet, the Vietnamese New Year. It is celebrated in late January or early February and is a time for families to come together, exchange gifts, and enjoy traditional foods. Activities during Tet include visiting temples, giving red envelopes with money to children, and watching fireworks displays. I love Tet because it is a time of joy, renewal, and gratitude for the blessings of the past year. The vibrant colors, delicious food, and festive atmosphere make it a truly special celebration.

Saving energy is essential for both environmental conservation and cost-saving purposes. One way to save energy is by practicing simple habits such as turning off lights, fans, and faucets when they are not in use. Additionally, keeping the refrigerator door closed helps maintain its temperature, reducing the energy needed to cool it. Another effective method is to prepare food carefully before turning on the stove, ensuring that cooking time is minimized and energy is used efficiently. By adopting these practices, individuals can contribute to reducing their carbon footprint and conserving valuable resources.

One of my favorite celebrations in Vietnam is Tet, also known as the Lunar New Year. Tet is the most important traditional festival in Vietnam, typically celebrated in late January or early February based on the lunar calendar. During Tet, families gather together to honor their ancestors, visit relatives and friends, and exchange best wishes for the new year. Traditional activities include decorating homes with peach blossoms and kumquat trees, making special holiday foods like banh chung (sticky rice cake), and participating in festive parades and fireworks displays. I particularly love Tet because it brings people closer together, fostering a sense of unity and renewal as we welcome the new year with hope and optimism.
