Dogs are great pets. They’ re friendly, playful, and intelligent. But some dogs are smarter than others. Some of these smart dogs have special jobs- they’re working dogs. Working dogs help police officer, sick people, and people in very cold places.

Rescue dogs

Rescue dogs help people in trouble. They can find people in the mountains, in the desert and in snow. They can even find people under buildings after an earthquake. Some common types of rescue dogs are German shepherds and Saint Bernards. These dogs are stronger and more intelligent than other dogs. They have better ears and noses, too.

Guide dogs

Guide dogs help blind people. For example, they help them cross the street. Guide dogs are usually golden retrievers of Labradors. These types of dogs are gentler and friendlier than other dogs. Guide dogs can help blind people have better lives.
