Adventure Tourism

     (1) Adventure tourism is a different way for tourists to see New Zealand. (2) This type of tourism uses the plentiful nature resources – mountains, rivers, lakes, wilderness areas and historical sites to provide adventure, thrills and challenges which are low risk but highly in excitement, for example, the coastal areas in New Zealand are great for canoeing and kayaking. (3) White-water rafting are another popular water adventure tour. (4) However, if you would rather keep your feet on the ground, New Zealand has over one hundred developed walkways in addition to the tracks in the twelve national Parks. (5) Surely the government will have to address this problem urgently, especially if the problem is widespread. (6) Because more and more tourists are interested in learning about New Zealand by doing exciting and unusual activities, adventure tourism will continue to grow.

1Does the paragraph unify? If it does not, which sentence does not support the topic sentence?
No, the paragraph does not completely unify. Sentence 5 does not support the topic sentence because it introduces an unrelated issue about addressing a problem, which is irrelevant to the discussion of adventure tourism.
2Does the paragraph have a concluding sentence? If it does, which sentence is it?
Yes, the paragraph has a concluding sentence. Sentence 6 is the concluding sentence: "Because more and more tourists are interested in learning about New Zealand by doing exciting and unusual activities, adventure tourism will continue to grow."

iii) tracks in the twelve national Parkstracks in the twelve national parks
("Parks" should not be capitalized.)

iv) Surely the government will have to address this problem urgentlyRemove sentence 5
(Sentence 5 is unrelated and should be omitted for coherence.)

2. Concluding Sentence

Yes, the paragraph has a concluding sentence. It is (6): "Because more and more tourists are interested in learning about New Zealand by doing exciting and unusual activities, adventure tourism will continue to grow." This sentence summarizes the overall idea of the paragraph and looks to the future of adventure tourism.

3. Mistakes in the Paragraph

Here are five mistakes in the paragraph, with corrections:

i) nature → natural
Correction: "This type of tourism uses the plentiful natural resources..."

ii) White-water rafting are → White-water rafting is
Correction: "White-water rafting is another popular water adventure tour."

iii) in addition to the tracks → in addition to tracks
Correction: "...has over one hundred developed walkways in addition to tracks in the twelve national Parks."

iv) national Parks → national parks
Correction: "...in the twelve national parks."

v) which are low risk but highly in excitement → which are low risk but high in excitement
Correction: "...to provide adventure, thrills, and challenges which are low risk but high in excitement..."
