I live in a peaceful village in Thai Binh province. It is also a beautiful neighborhood. There is a river running through the place. Large green rice paddy fields surround the village. There is a wet market near my house. People get everything needed from there. The streets are not very wide but very clean. There are many trees surrounding my place. Public transportation is not very popular in my neighborhood as most people travel on their private vehicles. People in my neighborhood are very kind and friendly. They are always very helpful and hospitable. Although the life in my neighborhood is very tranquil and peaceful, there is still a problem of inconvenience especially when it comes to entertaining activities. However, I still love my neighborhood. In my hometown, people celebrate Tet holiday like everywhere else in Vietnam. People in my place often prepare for Tet in about one month. Normally, people will clean and redecorate the house. They buy peach, food and new clothes. There are also some specialties which need to be made in advance like Chung cake. When the holiday begins, people will follow some traditional rituals, for example giving lucky money to the elder and children, and visiting relatives’ houses. Besides, people will also participate in some festivals held on this occasion. In short, Tet in my hometown is very special for me.
