When they go to bed on Christmas Eve, children hang up a pillow case or a sack for their presents. While the children are asleep, so the customs goes, Father Christmas, or Santa Claus, come( but only to children who have been good). Father Christmas climbs down the chimney and puts present in the sacks that the children have left out.
Christmas Day, December 25, is the biggest day of holiday. On Christmas morning( often very early), some families go to church. The traditional Christmas dinner consists of roast turkey and Christmas pudding - a dark, rich mixture of flour, fruit, sugar, nuts and brandy. Before the dinner people usualy put crackers- small rolls of paper that have gifts, jokes and party hats inside. Needless to say large quantities of beer wine and spirist are also drunk.
