In the United States, since 1901, California has issued a directive banning schools from homework assignments for reasons that are detrimental to student health. Today, some schools in the United States still apply a ban on teachers for students to do homework on weekends and control the number of exercises they must complete. Dr Michal Carr-Gregg, an Australian psychologist, believes that schools in Australia must study under US sanctions. He argues that Australian students are in crisis because of the amount of homework they bring home, which does not help them improve academically. He asserted that homework would never help children learn more and improve. Homework only makes them less playful with the family, less time to relax or develop other talents such as sports, music. Through his research, it was found that over-taking children did too much damage to their children's health but also affected their family life. Mental stress, tired of having to sit constantly hours to do the papers, even they have to stay up late to review the lesson, so no time to exercise or play sports, the child will be languid, schoolboy depressed. As for the parents, instead of letting that talk talk happily with their children, or lead their children to play comfortably, they have to teach their children to do lessons. However, many teachers have said that children also need to have homework to do. But the amount of homework to do is enough to allow them to review the knowledge they have learned while still having time to play.
