To begin with, we will talk about the history of Đông Hồ paintings. This kind of Vietnamese folk painting originates in Dong Ho village and has about 300 years of history. The artwork was created solely by hand at the time, demonstrating the skill and patience of the artists.

Although Đông Hồ paintings may seem very simple, there are multiple stages in the making of them, from sourcing the ingredients to painting. The paintings are printed on a special kind of paper made of bark of a tree named Dzo.
