After finishing high school, many students are excited about going to university because of its clear advantages.
Universities provide students with time management skills. Unlike high schools which provide students a fixed timetable to follow, universities offer students a wide range of subjects to choose from without any fixed schedule. Therefore, college students are forced to develop time management skills so that they can balance study and social time.
There are some disciplines that only universities can provide. High school education offers a wide range of subjects but not in depth. When a student chooses a major, he/she needs to attend a number of specialized courses. If one wants to be a doctor in the future, for example, he/she has to attend medical courses which are definitely unavailable in high school.
The university also provides students with a bachelor degree which opens the door to better career prospects. Those with a bachelor degree may find it easier to get a job than those who don’t. This is because there are many professions that require academic qualifications like lawyers, doctors or teachers.
In conclusion, attending universities is not a must, but it is a wise choice for students.
