There are many ways to update on current affairs with the following sources. Though not exhaustive, you can catch a few drops and then…fill to your satisfaction…

As the term indicates, we are referring to Current Affairs which is dynamic…

You have heard that change…is the only constant…

  1. Read a decent newspaper every day. Eg: The Hindu, TOI, etc. Do read the Editorials, and Op-Ed page. After some time you will get a hang of it.
  2. Get a decent monthly magazine on current affairs — Competition Master, CSR, etc. Read it thoroughly — if possible, and to end — mostly breaking up during reads. Do not treat it as a chore.
  3. In this social media age — create your own Facebook page and WhatsApp group so that you can decide the seriousness of your endeavour
  4. Collect all old papers of UPSC Civil Services General Studies papers and your state Group I papers and work out. In the beginning, you will know your entry behaviour…analyse…improve…continue…the loop

I am leaving out small but very important things like — Attitude, time management — productive and effective focussed study, preparation for The Exam etc

You need to internalize and make them your own…

And, if you find any etc's, it means you need to do your homework to suit your needs and goals — by setting an achievable…high standard…for yourself

All the Best…and Believe in Yourself !!!

  1. Internet websites and apps: Many people trust online sources because they offer instant access to a wide range of information from various perspectives. Websites and apps can provide real-time updates and allow users to verify information through multiple sources quickly. However, the credibility of online sources can vary greatly, so it's important to use reputable websites and fact-checking tools.

  2. News in the radio or TV: Traditional media like radio and television are often trusted for their professional journalism standards and editorial oversight. They provide curated news segments that are often well-researched and verified before broadcast. This can give viewers and listeners a sense of reliability and authority.

  3. Newspapers and magazines: Print media has historically been seen as a reliable source of news due to rigorous fact-checking processes, adherence to journalistic standards, and accountability to readers. Many people trust newspapers and magazines for in-depth analysis and investigative reporting.

  4. Teachers and other adults: Personal connections with educators and trusted adults can provide valuable insights and information. They may offer context and interpretation that help individuals understand complex issues and current events.

  5. My parents: Family members, especially parents, are often trusted sources of information due to their guidance and life experience. They can provide a balanced perspective and help interpret news in a way that is relevant to their child's understanding.

  6. Other sources: This category can include a wide range of sources such as academic journals, expert opinions, community leaders, and specialized publications. These sources are valued for their specific expertise and depth of knowledge in particular subjects.

Believability Factors:
  • Credibility: Sources that are known for their accuracy, transparency, and ethical standards are often believed more than those with a history of misinformation or bias.

  • Accuracy: The ability of a source to consistently provide factual, reliable information contributes to its believability.

  • Transparency: Sources that disclose their funding, methodology, and potential conflicts of interest are often perceived as more trustworthy.

  • Reputation: Established institutions and individuals with a track record of credible reporting and expertise are typically more trusted than lesser-known sources.
