**Vietnam and International Organizations**

Vietnam, a Southeast Asian nation with a rich cultural heritage and a dynamic economy, has increasingly engaged with various international organizations over the past few decades. This engagement has played a crucial role in the country's development and integration into the global community.

One of the most significant milestones in Vietnam's international relations was its accession to the United Nations (UN) in 1977. Since then, Vietnam has been an active member, contributing to peacekeeping missions and participating in various UN programs aimed at sustainable development, poverty reduction, and climate change mitigation. Vietnam's commitment to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is evident in its national policies and initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life for its citizens.

In addition to the UN, Vietnam is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), having joined in 2007. This membership marked a turning point in Vietnam's economic landscape, opening up new opportunities for trade and investment. By adhering to WTO regulations, Vietnam has enhanced its trade relations with numerous countries, leading to significant economic growth and development. The country's export-oriented economy has benefited immensely from this integration, making it one of the fastest-growing economies in the region.

Vietnam is also a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a regional organization that promotes political and economic cooperation among its ten member states. Through ASEAN, Vietnam has strengthened its ties with neighboring countries, fostering regional stability and economic collaboration. The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has provided Vietnam with a platform to enhance its competitiveness and attract foreign investment, further boosting its economic prospects.

Moreover, Vietnam's participation in international financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank has been instrumental in its economic reform and development. These organizations have provided Vietnam with financial assistance, technical expertise, and policy advice, enabling the country to implement effective economic policies and infrastructure projects. The support from these institutions has been crucial in Vietnam's transition from a centrally planned economy to a market-oriented one.

Vietnam's involvement in international organizations extends to environmental and social issues as well. The country is a signatory to various international agreements, including the Paris Agreement on climate change. Vietnam has made significant strides in addressing environmental challenges, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting renewable energy sources. Additionally, Vietnam collaborates with international organizations to improve healthcare, education, and social welfare, ensuring a better quality of life for its population.

In conclusion, Vietnam's active participation in international organizations has been a driving force behind its development and global integration. Through its engagement with the UN, WTO, ASEAN, and other international bodies, Vietnam has enhanced its economic growth, regional cooperation, and social progress. As Vietnam continues to strengthen its international partnerships, it is poised to play an increasingly influential role on the global stage.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was established on August 8, 1967, based on the Bangkok Declaration, with 5 original member countries: Indonesia, Malaysia Asia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. After 40 years of existence and development with many ups and downs, ASEAN today has become an intergovernmental regional cooperation organization including 10 Southeast Asian countries (plus 5 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar). and Vietnam), is an important political-economic entity in Asia-Pacific and an indispensable partner in the regional policies of major countries and important centers worldwide. Currently, ASEAN is moving into a new stage of development with the overarching goal of forming an ASEAN Community by 2015 and operating on the legal basis of the ASEAN Charter.

I was known by some inter-organisations such as WHO, UN, ASEAN,.. They provide many good things to the world of course. But my favourite organisation is the United Nations Children's Fund. We can call UNICEF for short. UNICEF was formed in 1946. It aims to support the most disadvantaged children all over the world. In Vietnam, an office of UNICEF was set up in 1975 aiming to protect children and make sure they are healthy, educated, and safe from harm. The benefits VietNam received from UNICEF are education for disadvantaged young people, providing education opportunities for children with disabilities, and improving learning achievements. It makes our country better and better, and joining UNICEF is one of the most important decisions of VietNam.
