Sample 1:

More and more people today are interested in and have the disposable income to take greater care with their fashion choices. In my opinion, though many fashion companies exploit their workers, this is a positive development overall.

Those who criticise the fashion industry often point out its treatment of workers. The most famous fashion brands like Louis Vuitton and Chanel (as well as footwear makers such as Nike and Adidas) outsource their labour at reduced costs to East Asia. Workers in their factories make subsistence wages and are notoriously mistreated, while the countries in question often have lax child labour laws as well. Exploitive fashion companies then massively inflate prices for their products. Their actions cannot be controlled directly by consumers but nonetheless undermine every innocent transaction at a shopping mall.

Regardless, fashion is an important aesthetic choice for ordinary people. The exploitation of workers ought to be regulated by governments and corporations, not consumers. Those who buy fashionable clothes are trying to express themselves through their attire and the end result of a more fashion-conscious public is greater beauty for onlookers. No one would question the importance of beautiful buildings and public works of art, but fashion is arguably more noticeable. Fashion gives not only individuals but also towns, cities, and nations a distinctive flair, without which the world would be blander and less beautiful.

In conclusion, the beauty fashion engenders outweighs any ethical considerations. Governments ought to properly regulate labour so that their citizens can shop and flaunt with a clear conscience.

Sample 2:

Over the decades, there has been a dramatic rise in the fashion industry, witnessing a huge popularity amongst people worldwide. People are becoming more fashion-conscious when it comes to their attire. There is a plethora of reasons why people prefer wearing trendy attires. Some argue that it’s a negative development, while others deem it to be positive growth. However, I concur with the latter view.

To commence with, people of all ages, including children and teenagers, have become fashion freaks. They’re obsessed with keeping up with the latest fashion trends. Out of all, people love fashionable clothes because they believe their personality is reflected when they wear trendy clothing. Individuals believe in expressing themselves through their styles by wearing fashionable clothes, which enhances their personality. This is all because the fashion industry in the first place has been growing rapidly and releasing unique trends and styles through digital media advertising and celebrity endorsements, attracting the attention of the younger generation. Therefore, to look presentable, confident, and good-looking in the eyes of society, individuals dress up well and keep up with the latest trends and save themselves from getting judged.

Furthermore, people upgrade their dressing style as per the latest fashion trend to stay ahead in the rat race, whereas those who stick to old fashion styles are regarded as outdated. As a result, branded clothes play an indispensable role in our life by allowing us to dress fashionably and giving us an opportunity to be individualistic and maintain our self-esteem.

On the other side, some propose that wearing trendy clothes has a negative impact on society since trendy clothes are pricey and anti-traditional. Secondly, teenagers put a lot of pressure on their parents to buy trendy clothes, which has another effect, and lastly, the quality of trendy clothes isn’t good enough to endure a long time. But even with all these negatives, it is undeniable that clothes make a man.

To summarise, although wearing stylish clothing has a detrimental influence, it also has good effects. It improves a person’s self-confidence and self-esteem. In my opinion, people should keep up with the latest fashion trends in order to stay in style, since fashion has become a necessity for everyone.

Sample 3:

It is true that wearing brand clothes has been becoming a usual habit in many communities. People are always encouraged by propagandas to purchase more fashion goods far more than in the past. I personally believe that the negative consequences of this lifestyle surpass its probable advantages.

Obviously, citizens are continuously pushed to use more fashion because of two important reasons. The first one is the positive role of advertisement. Before, the only devices for advertising of a product were television and radio; however, now individuals are constantly exposed to a variety of commercials shown on the Internet, inducing them to buy more clothing being designed recently. In particular, as users are searching on Google, they unconsciously see different advertisements shown by different companies on each side of the page. Therefore, they are tempted to watch the related page more and purchase shoes, shirts or other clothing. Another factor is that consumers have access to more variation of styles and brands than before. Obviously, competition between different international companies has led them to generate more different brands with specific logos. As a prime example, while only Adidas, Nike, Puma or Reebok were the leading sportswear by the year 1990, more different sports clothing has been allowed to be produced with different names after that time, like Columbia or Asics. As a result, users have more options to select their favourite clothes and change their interest based on the latest model.

From my point of view, this way of living can and will have more drawbacks. The first reason behind it is that individuals may forget the quality. Clearly, considering which materials are used in a dress can be far important than its name. For instance, we may pay just over $100 for a Dolce & Gabbana shirt, which is almost five times we have to pay for a CHAPS one, whereas the quality and longevity of the latter could be far better than the former. In addition, the rate of consumerism has grown far considerably. Citizens are exposed to more fashion goods, causing them to spend more money on unnecessary items. In this case, some youths are used to wearing varied shoes instead of only one, but they cannot even afford their medical or dental expenditure.

In conclusion, broadcasting and producing of more different merchandise are the two crucial factors why individuals prefer to use fashion. This has increased consumerism, and the quality of products has gradually been forgotten.

Sample 4:

Today, a growing number of people follows trend when it comes to wearing the dress. However, this essay suggests that this is a positive development because it speaks about the person, impresses at first sight, and fosters self-esteem.

The most evident advantage of wearing trendy clothes is that fashion speaks for a person. In simple words, the dress someone puts on tells who that person is. Even for individuals who do not care about what they dress, their outfits can easily speak a lot about them. In fact, it is crucial to follow fashion trends just because of our own identity. Apart from that, it creates a positive first impression. As we all know first impression matters, we need to be updated on the present sense of vogue - locally and globally and in different walks of life, vis-à-vis official and casual, leisure and party wear, and so on. Thus, dressing up fashionable outfits is very important and impresses others at first sight.

Likewise, this attitude makes individuals stay confident. When one follows the prevailing vogue in society, there is improved boldness in his or her personality while interacting with others. In fact, it helps people to remain a step ahead in the sphere of socialization. A study published by Vogue magazine shines some fascinating light on the fact that the person who follows current trends is confident and stands out in a crowd. In addition to this, it also brings inner delight. When people become confident and perform boldly in society, they feel a sense of great inner pleasure. This, in turn, boosts self-esteem and he or she may even draw the admiration of people around.

Dressing up fashionable attires is of profound importance. This is because that it talks about us, creates a positive impression, makes us confident, and causes inner delight. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that the attitude is a positive development.

Sample 5:

Fashion plays a vital role in today’s world. People of all ages have become fashion-conscious. They prefer wearing branded and trendy clothes as they want to look stylish. Moreover, the selection of clothes entirely depends on an individual’s choice and a change in the way of dressing is definitely a positive impact. This essay will look into the details and weigh if the following fashion is good or bad for society.

There is a myriad of reasons why people prefer wearing trendy clothes. The predominant reason is that they want to stay in the competition, keep up with the modern world, and adjust to society. Moreover, the fashion industry has constantly been growing and releasing unique trends and styles with the help of advertisements, which attracts the attention of the younger generation who spend heavily on such fashionable clothes. According to these youngster’s perception, their personality and character level gels up when they wear fashionable outfits. Such youngsters are always following fashion in each season. Therefore, in order to survive in the competitive rat race of becoming a fashion icon in the fashion world, people wear trendy attires.

Some people suspect that following fashion trends and wearing stylish clothes are not suitable for society. They think that it will have a negative impact on their tradition and culture. But, in reality, it actually depends on the perspective of an individual. In my point of view, it would be apparently wrong to judge a person based on their way of styling and clothing as it’s a personal choice. However, youngsters should avoid spending exorbitant amounts of money purchasing fashionable clothes as the fashion trend changes every now and then.

To reiterate, dressing up according to the latest fashion trend is good until an individual feels confident and comfortable wearing them. Because at the end of the day, fashionable or non-fashionable clothes don’t matter. All that matters is comfort, self-confidence, and relief.

Positive Aspects of the Increasing Interest in Fashion:

Self-Expression and Confidence: Fashion allows individuals to express their personality, creativity, and identity. Wearing clothes that reflect one’s style can boost confidence and help people feel good about themselves. It can also create a sense of belonging, as people who share similar fashion interests often bond over common trends or aesthetics.

Economic Growth and Job Creation: The fashion industry is a major global economic driver. It provides jobs in design, manufacturing, marketing, and retail. The rise in interest in fashionable clothes has led to the growth of new businesses, collaborations, and markets, supporting both local and global economies.

Cultural Exchange and Diversity: Fashion trends often incorporate elements from different cultures, which can promote cultural exchange and appreciation. Wearing clothes that draw from various global influences can help increase understanding and respect for diversity, fostering a more inclusive environment.

Sustainability and Innovation: As demand for fashionable clothing grows, there is an increasing focus on sustainable fashion. Many brands are incorporating eco-friendly practices, such as using recycled materials or promoting ethical labor standards. The industry’s focus on sustainability is encouraging innovation and solutions for more environmentally responsible production.

Negative Aspects of the Increasing Interest in Fashion:

Materialism and Consumerism: One of the most common criticisms of the fashion industry is that it promotes materialism. The constant drive to buy new clothes and follow ever-changing trends can lead to an emphasis on possessions over values, relationships, and experiences. This consumerist culture often encourages individuals to equate their worth with their appearance or the brand of clothing they wear.

Environmental Impact: While there are efforts toward sustainability, the fashion industry remains one of the largest contributors to environmental degradation. The fast fashion model, characterized by the rapid production of inexpensive clothing, leads to overconsumption, waste, and pollution. Clothes are often made with cheap materials that don't last, contributing to high levels of textile waste.

Pressure to Conform and Social Expectations: The growing emphasis on fashion can create societal pressure to conform to certain beauty standards or trends. This can be particularly harmful to younger people, as they may feel the need to constantly buy new clothes to fit in or meet unrealistic expectations. This pressure can also contribute to issues such as body image dissatisfaction and a lack of self-acceptance.

Exploitation in the Fashion Industry: The fashion industry, particularly fast fashion, is often criticized for exploiting workers in developing countries. Low wages, poor working conditions, and unethical labor practices are still widespread in parts of the industry. The demand for cheap, trendy clothing often comes at the expense of fair labor practices.

Balancing Fashion and Responsibility:
While fashion can be a positive force for self-expression and creativity, it is important to approach it with awareness and responsibility. Here are some ways to make fashion a more positive development:
Focus on Sustainable Fashion: Supporting brands that prioritize sustainability and ethical production can help reduce the environmental impact and improve labor conditions in the industry.
Promote Mindful Consumption: Instead of constantly chasing trends and accumulating clothes, individuals can embrace a more mindful approach to fashion by investing in high-quality, timeless pieces that last longer and contribute to less waste.
Encourage Body Positivity: Fashion should celebrate all body types and encourage individuals to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin, rather than forcing conformity to narrow beauty standards.
