In the forms of folk beliefs, ancestor worship is a kind of traditional tradition of the Vietnamese people. Being Vietnamese, "everyone worshiped ancestors, everyone worshiped grandparents."Ancestor worship has become a traditional custom, plays a very special position in the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people, and is one of the elements that make up Vietnam's cultural identity. The beliefs of ancestor worship are simple: believing that their ancestors are sacred, they go into eternity but still live next to their descendants, they bless their descendants when they encounter troubles and difficulties; rejoices when their children are lucky, encourages them when they encounter good things, and rebukes them when they do bad things ...In our country, ancestor worship is not only a popular belief among the Vietnamese - the majority ethnic group - but also preserved in a few other ethnic groups such as the Muong and Thai. In the past of history, while many other religions and beliefs were suffering, convicted of "superstition," the ancestor worship had and still has occupied the sacred position in life. Vietnamese spirit. The consciousness of "a man with a nest and a tone" is preserved in the spiritual realm and is passed on from generation to generation, whether they live in their homeland or exile in foreign countries. Especially, this is a form of belief recognized by the political institutions (the State) from past to present, albeit with different degrees. Along with the historical process of the nation, it is the accretion, gathering the valuable moral values of the Vietnamese people.

Superstitions can be defined as, "irrational beliefs, especially with regard to the unknown" (Collins English Dictionary) They cause us to act in strange ways, believe in odd things and leave us unable to explain the reasons why. Many superstitions may seem silly, even stupid to us today, but they continue to influence our behaviour and many people would argue that there are in fact some very good reasons for avoiding black cats and walking around ladders
