Father: This is a present for you, son.
Nguyen: A kite! How cool! Thank you, dad.
Father: I made it for you, just like your grandfather used to make one for me.
Nguyen: Is it a family tradition?
Father: Yes, for generations.
Nguyen: I love it. So when you were a kid, what did you use to do for entertainment?
Father: Oh, it was all very simple back then. We  didn't have television or the Internet. A mobile movie team used to come once every two months, and everyone from the village would be there. The children were always early, trying to get a place near the screen.
Father: I suppose it was a special occasion, wasn't it?
Father: Sure.
Nguyen: I wish there were movie teams like tha:
Father: Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
Nguyen: Then how did you get to know about world outside?
Father: We had the radio; actually, only ws people did. The whole village used to listen to the news programme through loudspeaker.
Nguyen: Wow, I can't imagine that.
Father: I know. The world's changed a lot, see much easier now.
Nguyen: Do you miss the past, dad?
Father: I suppose I do. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that time.

Bố: À, mọi thứ đều rất giản đơn. Bố không có tivi hay mạng gì cả. Đội chiều phim thường tới 2 tháng 1 lần, và tất cả mọi người trong làng sẽ tới xem. Trẻ con thì luôn đến sớm, cố gắng lấy 1 vị trí gần màn chiếu. 
Nguyên: Con đoán nó là dịp rất đặc biệt phải không bố? 
Bố: Chắc chắn rồi. 
Nguyên: Con ước bây giờ cũng có đội chiếu phim như thế. 
Bố: ừ, vui lắm. 
Nguyên: Làm thế nào để bố biết về thế giới bên ngoài. 
Bố: Nhà mình có 1 cái đài. chỉ người có điều kiện mới có nó thôi. Cả làng nghe các chương trình tin tức qua loa phát thanh. 
Nguyên: Wow, con không thể tưởng tượng được. 
Bố: Bố biết, cuộc sống đã thay đổi quá nhiều con trai à. Mọi thứ dần trở nên dễ dàng hơn nhiều. 
Nguyên: Bố có nhớ ngày xưa không?
Bố: Bố nghĩ là có. Đôi khi bố ước mình có thể quay lại thời đó.
