CONDITIONAL SENTENCES

I. Rewrite the following sentences, using an "if" construction.

1. The pupils will learn hard. They will pass the coming exams

If the pupils learn hard, they will pass the coming exams.

2. He doesn't take any exercise; that's why is so unhealthy.

If he took exercises , he wouldn't be unhealthy.

3. I didn't know your number so I didn't ring.

If i had known your number, I would have phoned.

4. I have no ladder so I can't get over the wall.

If I had a ladder, I could get over the wall.

5. My friends will have time. They will come visit me.

If my friends have time , they will come visit me.

6. We haven't got central heating, so the house is rather cold.

If we had got central heating , the house wouldn't be rather cold.

7. We don't go by air because We didn't have enough money.

If we had had enough money, we would go by air.

8. I am fat; that's why I can't get through the bathroom window.

If I wasn't fat, I could get through the bathroom window.
 

9. He ​wasn't looking where he was going. That's why he was run over.

If he hadn't been looking where he was going , he wouldn't have been run over.

10. The bus didn't stop because you didn't put your hand up.

If you had put your hand up, the bus would have stopped.
