Ihave lived in both the city and the rural country. I like both in different ways. For example, in the country, it is more scenic, peaceful, and the daily grind is at a slower pace. However I find in rural areas, people in general can be more dichotmous in thier thinking and way of life. Yet they appear more settled, too. This is just a speculation I have from living in Malta for almost 7 long, slow, and boring years. Another benefit to living in a rural area is people are friendlier, and actually take the time to say hello to you. On the other hand living in the urban city can take its toll on a person, given the harried pace, somewhat less friendly people, not to mention less trust and more suspicion of strangers or people that seem different. I have experienced that saying hello can actually result in a dirty look, too. However some pros of living in a city are more people to interact with, and more flexible thinking. City also gives a person more activities from which to engage. I'd like to find a place to live which has both rural aspects and city characteristics. Which lifestyle do you prefer?
