—> Yang Liwei. China's first astronaut, was 38 years old.

—> The successful fliglit marked a milestone in China's space project.

1. On 4^th October, 1957, the USSR launched its first artificial satellite, sputnik, into space. It marked as the beginning of Space Aae.
2. On 3^rd November, 1957, first living being in space was a dog named Laika. It was abroad in sputnik 2.
3. On 12^th April l961, Yuri Gasarin, a Russian cosmonaut became the first human in space. He was 27 years old then. He made a 108 - minute flight.
4. On 16^th June, 1963, a Russian cosmonaut. Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in space.
5. On 20^th July, 1969, first humans to set foot on the moon were Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. They were American astronauts.
6. On 23^th July, 1980, Pham Tuan became the first Vietnamese in space. He was along with v..v... Gorbotko, a Russian cosmonaut. They stayed 8 days in orbit.

7. On 29^th  October, 1998, the oldest human every to fly into space was John Glenn, an American astronaut. He was 77 years old.
8. On 15^th October, 2003, Yang Liwei became the first Chinese in space, 38 years old. He spent 21 hours in space.
