You are the Office Manager of a large insurance company which occupies four floors of an office
block. The canteen is in the basement and twice a day four ladies walk around the building with
a trolley of coffee, tea and biscuits. It has been decided to replace these tea ladies with vending
machines - two on each floor to enable employees to have drinks when they want.
Situation:
Write a memo to all staff explaining the decision, giving reasons and also explaining that the tea
ladies will not lose their jobs. You should also emphasise the fact that the vending machines will
also make available soft drinks.
