There are two predominant reasons why people are indulge in talking about money. First and foremost, money is a headline-grabbing issue that easily captures people’s attention. In fact, it is money that plays an indispensable role in our life as a basic necessity. But for money, people could not cover the daily expenses such as electric bills, school fees, travelling costs, etc. Additionally, mentioning money frequently is a sure sign of boasting about the wealth. Specifically, affluent people take it for granted that money is a ideal measure of success. My broastful aunt, for example often prides herself in her brand clothes and jewellery collection. Hence, by discussing about money, the rich can satisfactorily show off their prosperity.

 

However, this tendency could bring adverse influences on the community. An important concern for this phenomenon is that it puts a premium on material life. For instance, materialistic people are far from talking about their spiritual life but taking notice of the amount of money they earn and pay. This can put a heavy pressure on them about some financial problems. Not only does it put a stronger emphasis on material life but it also triggers vulnerability to the disadvantaged who aspire to lead a happy life. The explanation for this is that the poor are often prone to disappointment and even hopelessness when people who are endowed with an incomparable physical life have a dicussion about money.

 

In conclusion, there are a number of reasons why people tend to talk about money in their daily chat. As a result, there could be negative influences on the society.
