Subject: Welcome to my hometown! Here's what you should do and see in Viet Nam

Dear [Pen Friend's Name],

I hope this email finds you well. I'm thrilled to hear that you'll be visiting Viet Nam soon and spending a day in my hometown. I'm more than happy to give you some advice on the places of interest you should visit and the things you can do here.

First and foremost, I highly recommend exploring the Old Quarter in Hanoi, the capital city of Viet Nam. This historic area is known for its narrow streets, bustling markets, and traditional architecture. You can take a leisurely stroll and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere, try some local street food, and shop for unique souvenirs.

If you're interested in history and culture, a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a must. This iconic landmark is the final resting place of Vietnam's beloved leader, Ho Chi Minh. You can pay your respects and learn more about his life and contributions to the country. Nearby, you can also explore the Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda, both of which hold significant historical value.

For a taste of Vietnamese art and culture, I suggest visiting the Temple of Literature. This ancient temple is dedicated to Confucius and is the site of Vietnam's first university. You can admire the beautiful architecture, stroll through the tranquil gardens, and learn about the country's rich educational history.

If you're up for some adventure, a trip to Ha Long Bay is a must. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its breathtaking limestone karsts and emerald waters. You can take a boat tour, go kayaking, or even spend a night on a traditional junk boat to fully experience the beauty of this natural wonder.

Lastly, don't miss out on trying some authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Pho, banh mi, and spring rolls are just a few of the delicious dishes you should try. You can visit local restaurants or even join a cooking class to learn how to make these dishes yourself.

I hope these suggestions help you make the most of your day in my hometown. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to ask. I'm looking forward to showing you the beauty and charm of Viet Nam.

Safe travels and see you soon!

Warm regards,

Dear Mary,

It's great to know that you're coming to Viet Nam. Although you can stay in Ha Noi in only one day, I’m sure you can visits the most beautiful destinations here and enjoy the special dishes.

The one-day trip will include three places. First of all, depart from my house, we will go to the Temple of Literature and “Quoc Tu Giam”, which is the first university in Viet Nam. You can see the beautiful sights here and learn about the history. After that, let’s visit Hoan Kiem lake and enjoy the most famous ice-cream in Ha Noi. You can also visit Pen Tower and Ngoc Son temple as well. And the last destination is Old Quarters, which are near Hoan Kiem lake. Here you will enjoy special dishes like shrimps cakes, Pho, Nem,… Visiting 36 old streets, you can buy handicrafts and other traditional things as souvenirs.

Conveniently, these places are close to one another, so we can walk around easily.

Tell me when you're coming, so I can show you around these places.

Look forward to seeing you soon!

Best wishes,

Anh
