The old village of Duong Lam is 44 km west of downtown Hanoi in Son Tay town. It's known as an ancient village, but it's actually made up of nine villages. Five of them - Mong Phu, Dong Sang, Cam Thinh, Doai Giap, and Cam Lam - are next to each other. These villages have stuck together for a long time, keeping the same customs, habits, and beliefs for thousands of years. People also call this place the land of two kings because Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen were born here.

Even today, Duong Lam still looks like a typical Northern village with its village gate, big tree, water wharf, and a big yard. There are 956 old houses. In 2006, Duong Lam became the first old village in Vietnam to get a special certificate from the government for being an important historical and cultural place.
