I actually have two children. A boy, who is 17, and a girl who is 14.
In absolute terms, the boy does have more freedom. He has a driver license and therefore can go further places on his own for instance.
However, in relative terms the girl has more freedom. What does that mean? It means that she generally ends up getting the same freedoms as her brother, but at a younger age than he did.
There’s a saying: “The first child is made of glass, the rest are made of rubber.” This is a folksy way of explaining that a parent tends to be more careful with the first child, because everything is new. Once the parent has been through the experience and seen that it’s no big deal, they’re more easy-going with the subsequent children.
So I’d say the older child—boy or girl—will have more freedoms, but the younger child will get those freedoms at an earlier age.
To be honest, it seems silly that gender would enter into it at all.
