Our neighborhood group is a cultural neighborhood group because every Saturday afternoon, from old to young, from girls to boys, we clean the streets. Although this is only a small action, it also makes a great contribution to protecting the environment. This afternoon, at exactly five o'clock, a gong rang out. Each family nominates one person to participate, so every labor session includes all ages. Old men and women with white hair often show up early and happily chat while waiting. Housewives are busy cooking dinner so they often arrive last. The young people seemed very excited, always laughing and joking. When everyone arrived, the team leader began assigning work to each group. Clearing sewers is the most important and difficult task, so it is often assigned to young people. As for the old people and us, we swept the streets clean. Everyone quickly got to work. The group of sewers stood evenly spread out, one after another, bringing mud and trash to one place. Garbage is scooped up and dumped, while water is poured out into manholes. We spread out in a horizontal line, sweeping the road together. The doctors told us to sprinkle water and sweep gently to reduce dust. Doing street cleaning like this is also an interesting job for us. At the corner of the street near the intersection, there is a pile of bricks and mortar lying around, blocking the path. The guys shoveled it into the garbage bin at the end of the street so the cleaning company's truck could take it away. Only about half an hour later, the work was finished. The streets are neat and bright. I think that a clean and green city is the wish of all of us and it is also one of the top standards of a modern, civilized city.

Tổ dân phố chúng em là một tổ dân phố văn hóa bởi và chiều thứ bảy hàng tuần chúng em từ già đến trẻ từ gái đến trai đều tổng vệ sinh làm sạch đường phố. Tuy đây chỉ là một hành động nhỏ nhưng nó cũng góp công rất lớn trong việc bảo vệ môi trường. Chiều nay, đúng năm giờ, một hồi kẻng vang lên. Mỗi nhà cử một người tham gia nên buổi lao động nào cũng có đủ các lứa tuổi. Các cụ ông, cụ bà đầu tóc bạc phơ thường có mặt sớm hơn cả và vui vẻ chuyện trò trong khi chờ đợi. Các bà nội trợ đang bận nấu dở bữa cơm chiều nên thường có mặt sau cùng. Đám thanh niên tỏ ra rất phấn khởi, luôn miêng cười đùa. Khi mọi người đến đã đông đủ, bác tổ trưởng bắt đầu phân công công việc cho từng nhóm. Việc khơi thông cống rãnh quan trọng và vất vả nhất nên thường được giao cho thanh niên. Còn các cụ già và chúng em thì quét dọn đường phố cho sạch sẽ. Ai nấy nhanh chóng bắt tay vào việc. Nhóm khơi cống đứng rải đều, nối tiếp nhau lùa bùn rác về một chỗ. Rác được xúc lên đem đi đổ, còn nước được dồn ra phía các hố ga. Chúng em dàn thành hàng ngang, cùng quét sạch mặt đường. Mấy bác bảo chúng em rảy nước và quét nhẹ tay cho đỡ bụi. Đi làm vệ sinh đường phố như thế này cũng là một công việc thú vị đối với chúng em. Ở góc phố gần ngã tư có một đống gạch vữa ngổn ngang, cản lối đi lại. Mấy anh xúc đổ vào bồn rác cuối đường để xe của công ty vệ sinh chở đi. Chỉ chừng nửa giờ sau, công việc đã xong xuôi. Đường phố gọn gàng, sáng sủa hẳn ra. Em nghĩ rằng thành phố sạch và xanh là điều mong muốn của tất cả chúng ta và đó cũng là một trong những tiêu chuẩn hàng đầu của một thành phố văn minh, hiện đại.

Living in my small town, I've been fortunate to be part of several community initiatives. One memorable experience was organizing a neighborhood cleanup day. Armed with trash bags and gloves, we transformed our local park, removing litter and planting new flowers. It was incredibly satisfying to see the park revitalized. Additionally, I volunteer at the local animal shelter, where I help care for the animals and find them loving homes. Volunteering at the shelter has taught me the importance of compassion and the joy of giving back. I believe that everyone should contribute to their community in some way, whether it's through volunteering, donating to local charities, or simply being a good neighbor. By working together, we can create a stronger, more vibrant community.
