One of my most memorable vacation spots was Kyoto, Japan. I visited Kyoto in the spring of 2019, during the cherry blossom season. The city is known for its rich history, beautiful temples, and traditional Japanese culture, making it a perfect destination for someone eager to immerse themselves in a different way of life.

The primary reason for my visit was to experience the enchanting beauty of the cherry blossoms, known as “sakura.” This annual spectacle draws in visitors from around the world, and I was eager to witness it in person. Additionally, Kyoto is home to a multitude of historical sites, such as Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion) and Fushimi Inari Taisha, which would allow me to explore Japan’s heritage.

During my stay, I spent time wandering through the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where towering green stalks swayed gently in the breeze, creating a serene environment. I also participated in a traditional tea ceremony, which was an enlightening experience that offered insights into Japanese customs and the significance of mindfulness in daily rituals. I made sure to visit the various temples and shrines, taking in their intricate architecture and the breathtaking views surrounding them.

Through this experience, I learned the importance of appreciating nature and the art of being present. Watching the cherry blossoms bloom served as a reminder of the fleeting beauty of life, while the tranquility found in the bamboo grove taught me the value of solitude and reflection. The cultural rituals, such as the tea ceremony, emphasized the significance of patience and attention to detail, lessons that resonate beyond travel and into everyday life.

Overall, my trip to Kyoto was not just a vacation but a transformative experience that enriched my understanding of a culture distinct from my own, filled me with a sense of wonder, and left me with lasting memories and valuable life lessons.

I’m going to talk about one of my favorite overseas trips, and that is when I went to Singapore to celebrate my 20th birthday. It is one of the cleanest and safest countries I have ever visited.

Located in Southeast Asia, this little oasis is the most developed city in the region. Unlike other countries in the area, which are famous for their exotic charms and breath-taking scenery, Singapore is known for its top-notch facilities and modern infrastructure. Its cleanliness is also worth mentioning. The streets here are extremely different from what you will find in Vietnam, I mean, they are nearly spotless and you can be fined if you litter in public places, which prevents these places from being filled with trash. Even the tap water here is potable.

So I went there a few years ago. It was the second time that I traveled abroad so I had a little traveling experience. I planned my itinerary quite carefully so that I could explore every aspect of the country. We visited different places, from sidewalk cafes to first-rate shopping malls, hotels and restaurants. What I liked most was the nightlife there. There were several pubs selling local micro-brews, with very stylish and approachable waiters.

I would love to pay a visit to Singapore again. Of course, I have to wait until the pandemic is over to fulfill my dream.
