Dear Tim,
Thank you for your letter. I'm sorry I haven't answered for so long but I was really busy with my school.
It was so nice of you to remember about my party. You're right, I organised this surprise party for my friend's birthday, though not without difficulty.
When I was writing to you I was in trouble associated with lack of relevant place for rent. The party's floor was supposed to be filled up with plenty of people so it was very hard to find a place big and cosy enough. However, after two days my other friend gave me ring that his father's colleague allowed me to organise a surprise party at his home. Fortunately, it turned out that we had been living close, so it wasn't a problem to hold a party there.
And the second problem was my friend's girlfriend. Let me add: ex-girlfriend. He had rejected her two weeks before the party took place. She wasn't invited, although, she just stepped inside! I don't have a clue either how she had found out about the party or why he allowed her to get in - anyway, she was there. Letting her to step inside was my friend's great mistake. She was moaning and groaning all the time, counting that he had changed his mind about her and will get back to her.
Nonetheless, my friend was actually surprised and glad. He said it would be his the best birthday party if his ex-girlfriend hadn't come in. It seems to be a compliment, isn't it?
Well, that's all for now. Do write back as I'm waiting for the news from you.
Best wishes,
XYZ.
