More and more cities will be built underground much as a Montreal Canada’s underground is today.

This will be much more energy efficient for both hot and cold climates as the temperature underground stays about the same temperature year round.

This will reduce energy needs. Full spectrum artificial lighting will create a bright atmosphere and filtered environmental control systems will warm breezes to give people the illusion of being outside.

Mass transit probably along the lines of Elon Musk’s Boring Company projects will provide both inner city underground transit and transit to other cities. Most of the excavation for the city itself will also be done by the Boring Company.

Much of the above ground real estate will be devoted to parks and renewable energy farms.

Food production will be done in factory farms downstairs using hydroponics food factories which will not require pesticides making the food much safer to eat.

Meat will be produced underground in bio-factories that create the meat using biosynthesis. The meat will be much healthier, just as nutritious and have a taste almost identical to what we eat today.

These cities will be sheltered and designed to withstand most types of natural disaster. Supporting beams and walls will be designed to flex not break in case of seismic activity. Backup fusion power will augment renewable above ground power in case of an above ground natural disaster taking out the renewable energy sources.

Many companies will choose to build their new locations underground as well for many of the same reasons that people will choose to shop and live underground. Cost, safety, convenience, and protection from the rising temperature created by run away global warming caused by the denial of science in what will then be know as the Dark Ages of Trump.
