Ayers Rock or Uluru is 860 meters above the sea level. You have to walk 9.3 kilometers around the base of Uluru. In 1958, it was declared the national park. You are mostly to see many kinds of birds and reptiles and more than 400 types of plants in the national parks. There is evidence to show that the Aboriginal people lived in Central Australia for 30, 000 years. Uluru’s rock art was 5,000 years old. In 1873, William Gosse became the first European to see Uluru, naming it after Sir Henry Ayers, the Chief Secretary of South Australia. Each year more than 250,000 people visit the park from all over the world.
