Christmas is a celebration of Jesus Christ's birth. Some people celebrate Christmas differently, but it is all based upon the birth of Christ. Christmas is on December 25th. This is the day that Jesus is said to be born. Nobody really knows the exact date Jesus was born. Yet, in 137 AD, the Bishop of Rome ordered the birthday of The Christ child be celebrated as a solemn feast. In 350 AD, another Roman Bishop named Julius I, choose December 25th as the observance day of Christmas. People celebrate Christmas differently form one another. For example, my family celebrates Christmas by decorating our entire house. We also exchange gifts, go to church, and cook a big dinner. Even though we do all these things, we remember the "true" meaning of Christmas - To Celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ.

Holidays hold an important part in everyone’s life and one of the most popular holidays around the world is Christmas day. According to ancient peoples, Xmas day is celebrated primarily on December 25th to commemorate the day Jesus was born. In some weeks before Xmas, people often decorate their house with lights, Christmas trees and much more, prepare the meals for this special day. Besides, children will hang their Christmas socks with the hope of receiving some lovely gifts from the Santa Claus. Christmas day is the day that family members gather together around the fireplace, enjoy the meal, talk and play games in the warm atmosphere. Then people come to the church and pray to the God, confess about their all sins and sufferings, their hope for healthiness and happiness. Many schools and works are usually closed on Christmas Eve so families can stay together at that special night. The most well-known symbol is Santa Claus- the imaginary old man with long, white hair and beard with a red coat who children believe to bring them presents at Christmas. To sum up, Christmas is one of the most meaningful holidays of the year for people to stay together and take a rest after a hard working year.

Along with global cultural diversities, there are more and more festivals held annually over the world and most people express concern and look forward to the coming of a special occasion, Christmas. Xmas occurs on December 25th to commemorate the day Jesus was given to birth. During these days, there are different activities preparing for the big day. Most houses are decorated with colorful lights; shops, stores, groceries, restaurants are always crowded to satify the need of customers. Everyone is busy with dressing gorgeously, choosing meaningful gifts, preparing for a delicious meal to enjoy a Xmas night with their beloved ones. For Christian followers, this day is so important that they often go to the church at night to pray. To sum up, Christmas day has brought great pleasure and happiness for all citizens in the world, making our boring life more exciting and meaningful.
