SECTION FOUR:WRITING
Part 3:
Festivals in Vietnam offer visitors the best opportunity for getting up close and personal with the myths, customs and fun-loving spirit of this proud nation. Despite undergoing modern developments, Vietnam is still a predominantly traditional country, with thousands of pagodas and shrines dedicated to Buddha as well as various deities and iconic figures. There are also plenty of cultural events that are only celebrated during certain times of the year (or years), so you’ll never know when one decides to pop up during your travels. We’ve compiled a list of the best festivals in Vietnam, and while they’re celebrated just about anywhere in the country, we’ve included some suggestions on the best places so that you can fully experience these one-of-a-kind events during your holiday.Lunar New Year, locally called Tet, is the biggest festival of the year with the whole country downing tools for family get-togethers. Principally a religious celebration, don’t expect too much of a wild party, but it’s still a fascinating time to visit Vietnam and you’ll certainly find locals lighting fireworks, visiting temples with their families, and the interesting sight of many flower stalls set up as giving flowers is customary during Tet.

PART III: Reading
Bài I:
Schools in the United States have not always had a large number of libraries. As recently as 1958 about half of the public schools in the United States had no libraries at all. The number of public school libraries increased dramatically when the federal government passed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, which provided funds for school districts to improve their education programs and facilities, including their libraries. nevertheless, many educators claim that since the legislation was passed federal spending has not increased sufficiently to meet the rising cost of new library technologies such as computer databases and Internet access.
Because the federal government provides only limited funds to schools, individual school districts come on funds from local property taxes to meet the vast majority of public school expenses. Therefore, the libraries of public schools tend to reflect the political capabilities of the communities in which they are located. Districts in wealthy suburbs often have fully staffed libraries by abundant resources, spacious facilities, and curricular and instructional support. In contrast, school districts in many poor areas house their libraries in ordinary classrooms or in small rooms. The libraries in such areas are generally staffed by volunteers, who organize and attain books that are often out-of-date, irrelevant, or damaged.

Bài II:
I was born in one of the most interesting cities in Malaysia. It has a rich, colourful history and many parts of the city have hardly changed at all during the last five centuries. However, nowadays, it is more longer the trade centre that it once than It is difficult to imagine that at one time its harbour used to be visited by over 2,000 ships a week, and that the huge warehouses along the quayside would have been full of spices and silks, jewels and tea.
The old city centre is small, which makes it very easy to explore on foot. A river neatly divides the town not only physically but in spirit, too. On one side, you find many grand houses, but on crossing the river, you find yourself in ancient Chinatown, where you really take a step back into the past.
It is great fun to wander through the colourful, noisy backstreets. As well as having shops that sell a wide range of clothes and shoes, some of these streets are also famous for high quality antiques. Unfortunately, most of the bargains disappeared many years ago. However,if you look around carefully, you can still come across an interesting souvenvir.
