2. Talk about your favorite piece of technology
I suppose I have two really, not just one. Having been a reader since I was three, I do love my Kindle.
I can carry hundreds of books with me anywhere I go. I often read two or three different books (or more) at the same time depending on my mood, and it saves my place in each one for when I want to go back to it. If we have a power failure, I can still read without the aid of candles or lanterns. And it is lighter than most books, which is easier on my slightly arthritic hands and wrists.
The other is my smart phone, not as a phone, but as an entertainment source. I can read, listen to audio books, watch videos and even keep up to date with Quora when I am out and about, and have a few minutes to spare.
I am also completely sold on Google maps for when I have to drive somewhere I have never been before. No more stopping by the road side to consult a street directory, often multiple times. I just put in my destination and my phone tells me where to go.
Of course the Google lady does sometimes get a little terse when I don’t do as I am told. The first couple of times this happened, I thought it must have been my imagination, but it wasn’t. On a recent drive, she kept telling me to make a U-turn, and by the fourth time she was definitely quite belligerent about it! But even though I do have to put up with the occasional hissy fit, it is still worth it for the hassle free driving.
So those are my two, and thank you for the A2A.
